What Greenify Is

Greenify is a nationwide initiative from a group of Irish credit unions committed to helping members take meaningful climate action by financing energy-efficient home upgrades or sustainable transport.

Greenify empowers you to invest in improvements such as insulation, solar panels, heat pumps, electric vehicles, and home EV chargers — all through a trusted, community-based financial partner: your local credit union.

Borrow up to €75,000

Over terms up to 10 years, with unsecured lending and a variable interest rate (typical APR ~5.6%) subject to credit union approval.

Green Loans for Home

Greenify helps you upgrade your home’s energy efficiency:

  • Insulation (attic, walls)t

  • Solar PV panels

  • Heat pumps

  • Doors & windows upgrade

These upgrades can reduce energy bills and improve comfort. Many also qualify for SEAI grants.

Green Loans for Transport

Greenify also supports sustainable transport choices helping you reduce emissions and fuel costs:

  • Electric vehicles

  • Plug-in hybrids

  • Home EV charging stations

How It Works

    You can apply online via our Core CU App, pop into one of our 8 offices or call 01 272 5600 to apply via phone.

    We’ll Call You

    If applying online a staff member reaches out, to confirm details or ask for further documentation if necessary.

    Loan Approved

    If everything checks out, your loan is approved.r call 01 272 5600 to apply via phone.

    Happy Member

    You collect your funds from Core Credit Union. Funds can be collected as Cheque or Bank Transfer to start your green project.

Important Information

Loans are subject to approval. Terms and conditions apply. If you do not meet loan repayments, your account may go into arrears and affect your credit rating and future access to credit. All Greenify Credit Unions are regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland.
